CAMBODIA
Rose Charities Australia supports the Rose Cambodia Rehabilitation Centre (Rose Rehab), in Cambodia. This project is located in Takhmau, 30 mins from the capital, Phnom Penh.
This multi-faceted Centre has been providing holistic rehabilitation for marginalised Cambodian children and community members with disability or injury since May 2010. Prior to its opening, volunteers spent 4 years planning and preparing for the development of the Centre by identifying service gaps, building networks, researching disability in Cambodia and linking in with other organisations providing services to people with disabilities. Currently, the primary focus of Rose Rehab is to train and develop the skills of the local staff to enable quality services to be delivered by Cambodians well into the future.
Rose Rehab was founded by Rose Charities Australia Director Joanna Thomson (Physiotherapist – Perth), and draws in all techniques available to assist patients. Thus its range is ‘holistic’ or ‘poly-rehabilitative’ Please click for updates
Rose Charities Australia Directors, Sarah Miller with Will Grut have also established a partnership with FDCC, an organisation delivering valuable projects in the Prey Veng region of Cambodia to deliver the Rose-FDCC Cambodian Education Sponsorship project.
